Sometimes, updating a complex software product requires switching platforms. In the case of YoYoGames GameMaker Studio, we had a large porting job ahead of us.
The company asked visualSilicon for help with porting GameMaker’s frontend and backend engine from Borland Delphi (VCL/Object Pascal) to Microsoft VisualC++ (MFC/C++). The aim was to enable its port to game consoles, including the PSP and Nintendo Switch.
“The work of visualSilicon enabled us to fast track development of our products significantly. WIth this work done, we were able to carry on with our own development and eventually sold the business. Overall, the project was excellent.”
